In view of the public interest in this case, the Chief Justice of Western Australia, the Hon David K. Malcolm AC, with the agreement of the Attorney-General, Mr Jim McGinty MLA, has directed that transcript of these proceedings should be made available on the Supreme Court web site.
The consent of the Attorney-General is necessary because copyright in the transcript is vested in the Crown in the right of the State of Western Australia.
This hearing is the first occasion for Western Australian courts that transcript of proceedings has been made available to the public via the Internet.
Transcript of each day's proceedings will be posted on the site within 24 hours of the completion of each sitting day. The hearing has been set down for 17 - 19 April, 2002, in the Supreme Court building, Stirling Gardens, Perth.
