Mr Len Roberts-Smith QC will be sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia at a ceremony at Government House on Monday, 6 November, at 8.45am.
His Excellency Lieutenant General John Sanderson AC, Governor of Western Australia, will perform the ceremony in the Government House Dining Room.
Please note that only one camera will be permitted at Government House to film the proceedings. Television stations are asked to make their own pooling arrangements. Sound can be used, but no lighting will be permitted. Interested media representatives should report to the security post within Government House grounds by 8.30am.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, a special sitting of the Full Court of the Supreme Court will be held in Court 1, commencing at 9.30 am, to formally welcome Mr Roberts-Smith QC to the bench.
This ceremony will include addresses by the Chief Justice of Western Australia, The Hon David Malcolm AC, Attorney-General, The Hon Peter Foss QC, President of the Western Australian Bar Association, Mr Philip Eaton, and President of the Law Society of Western Australia, Mr Gregory Boyle.
