The Supreme Court of Western Australia issues media statements which are made available to the media through the Manager, Media and Public Liaison. This officer routinely advises members of the media on issues relating to Court reporting, including suppression orders, Judges' sentencing remarks and the delivery of judgments.
The Courts have published a basic guide for media representatives reporting the hearing and outcome of cases in the courts of Western Australia, titled 
Guidelines for the Media. It covers the Supreme Court, Family Court, State Administrative Tribunal, District Court, Children’s Court, Magistrates Court and Coroner’s Court. It also contains reference to the High Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
